Every year I record a message to share Merry Christmas wishes, reflecting on the year past. This season is special, filled with warmth and joy. Despite ongoing challenges with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), I'm reminded of the value of community and charity.
In October, a visit to Cedar Point’s theme park oddly brought a temporary reprieve from CFS symptoms. Despite the unusual nature of this improvement, it offered hope. Yet, symptoms have resurged, prompting reflection on supporting causes and those in similar struggles.
This year, I chose to donate through 'SolveME CFS' rather than multiple charities, reinforcing a sense of responsibility to help others. Inspired by Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol,' the idea is to find meaning in adversity and support others enduring greater difficulties.
The festive season highlights the importance of small acts of kindness, from donating to a charity or simply offering a listening ear. Remembering those enduring tougher times, I am grateful for support from viewers and aim to uplift others.
While each person's journey is unique, the spirit of giving unites us. As you navigate challenges this season, may you find companionship and comfort. If you’re in a position to support others, it can bring profound personal and communal rewards.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all, hoping for brightness in the year ahead.
