Dark Corners Undead: Year-End Review and Upcoming Movie Preview

Exploring the ups and downs of the past year and a glimpse into the anticipated films for the year ahead with Dark Corners Undead.

Welcome back to Dark Corners Undead. In this year-end review and year-beginning preview, we take a look at the films we've seen in the past year and those we are anticipating in the coming year. Despite high hopes, we haven't quite reached our subscriber goals, but we aim for 100,000 next year along with a big celebration.

This past year has had its challenges and moments of success. Our popular special on the "Island of Lost Souls" was unfortunately taken down by Universal International, but thankfully, it will soon be out of copyright. Members and subscribers still have access to it.

Among other highlights, we've covered a series featuring every horror film Boris Karloff made, introduced me to new films like "The Black Castle," and rewatched "Targets," appreciating its quality once again.

Looking forward, next year's Patreon YouTube series will focus on 50 weeks of Sherlock Holmes, delving into various adaptations, including lesser-known ones. As we reflect on films watched this year, "Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man" stands out as entertaining and an example of a successful franchise without becoming repetitive.

Upcoming horror releases to watch include "Sinners," known for its stunning music, and moments of genuine horror, making it a must-watch. Other anticipated releases include "Evil Dead Burn," "28 Years Later Part Two: The Bone Temple," and a potential new "Exorcist" film by Mike Flanigan after Universal's recent investment.

New adaptations of classic stories are on the horizon, such as "Pinocchio Unstrung" and "Pooh, Blood, and Honey." There's also excitement for "Wolf Werewolf" by Robert Edgars, and "Cold Storage" featuring Liam Neeson. A new "Shaun the Sheep" installment brings family-friendly fun, while "Masters of the Universe" offers a nostalgia trip.

Next year brings exciting plans for Dark Corners with specials including a Top 10 Bela Lugosi horrors and a Todd Browning feature. We continue to engage audiences with diverse content, insightful retrospectives, and innovative series.
