Oh, I love me some X-Men. I am a huge X-Men fan. In fact, it was X-Men and Batman who got me into comics in the first place. And I've been really lucky as a comic book fan. Both have had wonderful cinematic adaptations on both the big and small screens. The animated versions, in particular, have created many comic book fans that exist today. Animation is really important, and X-Men has been blessed with a great new animated series, although there's some nervousness about how season 2 will turn out with significant creative changes.
I've tried to avoid spoilers for a recently leaked X-Men trailer because I wanted to experience it fresh. Unfortunately, I couldn't avoid the stills and caught glimpses of Cyclops in his suit, which seemed less perfectly fit than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine costume. Still, I've only seen a quick peek.
Some might say X-Men will return, and hooray for that. That segment was quick, and for some, ridiculously so. I've never watched one of these trailers officially before and didn't know there was ticking involved.
James Marsden, who had some trouble after writing a letter to a judge, plays Cyclops. Professionally, Marsden is a great actor who has aged well alongside Hugh Jackman. The trailer shows Marsden in the suit, which hasn’t been altered much for live-action like Wolverine's was. Maybe the suit’s bands are adjusted slightly, but it stays true to the comics. Marsden, being a smaller guy, looks good in the suit, even though padding is involved. In the original X-Men movies, Cyclops's role was underwritten, which was the real issue, not the suit.
