As you may know, Averil passed away on October 30th. After being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in June 2024, and undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy, the cancer unfortunately spread to her brain. Despite numerous treatments, there was nothing more that could be done, and she passed away this October.
Her partner reflects on their time together, emphasizing how fortunate they were to spend 10 years as best friends, sharing a passion for movies. They spent time watching films, discussing them, and engaging with an appreciative community, which includes Patreon supporters who participated in movie viewing parties.
Averil was known for her infectious laughter and keen eye for detail in movies, something that resonated with many. They plan to celebrate her life in February and intend to make Averil's favorite movie viewable for free to honour her.
Contributions from the community are requested to help create a montage of Averil's best moments related to movies, and assistance in editing videos that Averil filmed. There's a desire to compile a collection of Averil's analyses to preserve her legacy in film critique.
