Blackmagic Design has created revolutionary solutions for film post-production and television. Emory, from Frame.io, discussed the major transformation in the platform at NAB, representing a big leap with the release of Frame.io version 4.
This version marks the most significant update in Frame.io’s history with a comprehensive overhaul. A ground-up redesign for its web, iPhone, and iPad apps introduces sophisticated features supporting creative work management.
Emory explained that the ambition with version 4 was to expand beyond mere video review and approval to a creative work management platform. New workflows can integrate with Premiere or After Effects, handling auxiliary processes across various creative media.
The introduction of a new metadata model allows users to set up custom fields relevant to their workflows. This is useful for processes like VFX shot tracking, casting, or location scouting, expanding the capabilities significantly.
Moreover, version 4 presents a durable improvement in sharing functionalities, integrating review links and presentation features into a unified, customizable sharing process.
The beta version is currently available to Pro Plan customers, progressing carefully to ensure stable releases, while introducing several performance enhancements and user customizations for managing vast amounts of data efficiently.
