New Spin-off 'The Paper' Explores the Fate of Dunder Mifflin

Discover the new Peacock spin-off 'The Paper' and find out what happened to Dunder Mifflin from 'The Office'.

20 years after 'The Office' first introduced Scranton, Pennsylvania to the world, fans can now find out what became of Dunder Mifflin. The new Peacock spin-off series, 'The Paper', created by Greg Daniels and Michael Kleman, revisits the iconic Scranton office in its premiere episode. Utilizing the same mockumentary style that made the original series beloved, the show briefly revisits the former workplace before focusing on a new team in Toledo, Ohio.

The series features Bob Vance from Vance Refrigeration, confirming the long-standing background of the Scranton Business Park, which also hosts Reubin's Electrical Contractors, Kavala Data Filters, and the Oneandone Laser Company. Notably, Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch was bought in 2019 by Innervate, a Toledo-based company specializing in various paper products.

Phyllis Vance was asked to relocate but declined, while Oscar Martinez accepted a transfer, becoming head accountant at Enervate in Toledo. The show highlights Bob's reflections on old friend networks, the transformation of Dunder Mifflin's old office space into a laser clinic, and the enduring bonds despite the company's closure.

The series, 'The Paper', uses this backdrop to explore the challenges of maintaining traditional institutions within rapidly evolving industries. The story follows editor-in-chief Ned Samson's efforts to revitalize a historic newspaper, Toledo Truth Teller, amidst these challenges, offering a commentary on innovation and adaptation.

As fans of 'The Office' reflect on the dear memories of Dunder Mifflin, 'The Paper' invites them to join a new journey while cherishing the past. How do you feel about the new mockumentary? Let us know in the comments. Thanks for watching Screen Rant.
